Writing and Grammar
MAISA Writing Workshop
During writer's workshop students will have opportunities to self-select topics as well as respond to teacher-selected topics. Some of the genres that will be covered include: personal narratives, essay writing, opinion writing, informational writing, realistic fiction, and short research reports. In addition, they will be engaging in extensive writing across all content areas. English instruction (grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, etc.) will take place as well. The children will go through the entire writing process with several, but not all, of their pieces of writing. The final steps of the process are publishing and illustrating.
