Spelling
K-2 spelling lists are created from the Fountas & Pinnell Phonics Lessons and follow a pattern.
3-5 spelling lists are generated from Words Their Way. These lists also follow a pattern.
Students are encouraged to practice the spelling patterns throughout the week. Word sorts help students identify the spelling patterns in the words. Children may enjoy practicing spelling words in a variety of other ways such as using a whiteboard, writing in color with each color identifying a different spelling pattern, highlighting the various patterns with different highlighter colors or using letter tiles from Scrabble®. Have fun!
